Our single guest rooms offer simplicity and comfort, while our double en-suite provides more luxury. Set in a historic old Courthouse, experience the charm of sleeping in former cells, which once hosted iconic prisoners and now welcome guests from around the world. At the same time enjoy the peace and be part of a Buddhist community.
The Lotus Guesthouse is housed in a historic building, once a courthouse dating back to 1869.
Each of our 4 single rooms enjoys a shared bathroom and kitchenette facilities while our double has a private en-suite. All guests have access to our meditation room, temple space, library, dining area and courtyard garden.
Join us for multiple activities such as setting positive intentions, prayer sessions, yoga, meditation, and insightful teachings (check out our 'what's on' schedule for event details).
As our guesthouse is part of Jamyang Buddhist Centre, we ask that all of our guests kindly follow the 5 Buddhist precepts or guides for harmonious living.
- To refrain from causing harm, and nurture an intention of benefiting others
- To accept only what is given, live with a sense of generosity and giving
- To avoid sexual misconduct and cultivate respect for faithfulness and contentment
- To practice kind speech and refrain form speaking lies
- To avoid intoxication and respect mindfulness and safety
