We welcome all guests to our daily activities to discover the practices of Tibetan monastic life first-hand.

The Lotus Guesthouse is adjoined to our vibrant Buddhist Centre, with a library, 2 temples, and a dining and co-working space.

The Lotus Guesthouse is a self-check-in shared facility. This means there is no concierge or reception, as guests can check themselves in with our secure keypad system. However, there's usually a friendly face around to help show you the way to the Library or the meditation hall, offer directions or answer any questions.

Entry to the Lotus Guest House is via the Iron Gates at the front of the courtyard garden at Jamyang. Simply enter your unique access code (which will be provided in your booking confirmation) and enter through the gates, following the wooden path up to welcoming bright green door of the Lotus Guesthouse. Pop your code in once more here for access to the building and head on upstairs to your room.

Set between Kennington and Elephant + Castle in South London, The Lotus Guesthouse is ideally located as a comfortable base for those exploring London. The accommodation is well placed for walks along the river and is close to attractions such as the Tate Modern, Southbank Centre, London Eye, Westminster, and the Imperial War Museum. The nearest tube stops are Kennington (serviced by the Northern Line) and Elephant + Castle (Northern Line and Bakerloo). There are handy bus routes into town at the end of the road and local scooter and bike hire stations.

‘The Old Courthouse’ now the Lotus Guesthouse and Jamyang Buddhist Centre, is the old surviving Victorian police and Magistrates court in London. Built in 1869 and designed by the Architect Thomas Charles Sorby, the building has Grade II listed status and is set within a conservation area.

The building served as a maximum security court for special remands, seeing a variety of folk residing here at Her Majesty’s pleasure, the most famous inmates being London’s notorious gangsters the Kray twins. Our single rooms in the Guesthouse are the former cells, steeped in history and certainly one of London’s most unique places to stay.
